Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Gallery Assistant to join our team. As the face, voice, and warmth of Pace Gallery, you will provide memorable and inclusive first-class experiences for everyone who sets foot in the Gallery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promptly and warmly welcome guests to the gallery
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of our current exhibitions to best articulate relevant artistic concepts to visitors
  • Create a welcoming and engaging experience that is inclusive to all visitors
  • Identify yourself as a resource for any questions about the gallery, exhibition, our artists, etc.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and speak confidently and intelligently about Pace and our artists
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity regarding personal and confidential Gallery information
  • Work effectively within a team and utilize resources to accomplish the goals of the gallery
  • Possess a sincere interest in people and exercise high Emotional Intelligence (EQ) when interacting with guests, clients, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 1+ years related work experience
  • Strong administrative skills, including answering and directing phone calls, managing email correspondence, and working directly with staff and clients
  • Poise and professionalism, with the ability to work well under pressure and effectively communicate with people from all walks of life
  • A friendly and positive demeanor, with a genuine passion for contemporary and modern art
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft/Outlook and database programs
  • Knowledge of accounting, data, or administrative management practices and procedures
