About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Electrical Technician to join our team at Strata Clean Energy. As a key member of our operations and maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our utility-scale solar and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical Safety and Maintenance: Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring strict adherence to OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and Strata Clean Energy safety protocols. Conduct regular electrical system inspections and perform maintenance tasks to enhance plant performance and operational efficiency.
  • Electrical Theory and Troubleshooting: Develop a profound understanding of electrical theory to interpret design drawings and promptly identify and escalate any electrical safety hazards. Troubleshoot and diagnose common Direct Current (DC) faults within the PV plant.
  • Tool Operation and Data Management: Utilize a range of tools including multimeters, low resistance Ohmmeters, PV Analyzers, IR thermometers, IR cameras, and hand-held irradiance meters for electrical maintenance duties. Extract data files, troubleshoot communication issues, and operate monitoring software using PCs or tablets.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate and coordinate well with peer Technicians and other personnel, vendors, and subcontractors. Document all completed work using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other organizational platforms.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent. Minimum three (3) years of experience working with energized AC or DC systems, or other relevant experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to demonstrate basic working knowledge of electrical theory & PV power generating system fundamentals. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics. Proficiency with MS Office applications to include but not limited to MS Word and Excel.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be able to travel occasionally to remote project sites. Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a shift. Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend. Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs overhead repeatedly.
