Physical Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Technician to join our team at ProSport Physical Therapy & Performance in San Juan Capistrano. As a Physical Therapy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of clinicians.
Essential Position Duties:- Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming and comforting them, and assisting them into physical therapy apparel.
- Perform laundry and maintain an adequate supply of clean linens.
- Record daily notes under the direct supervision of a physical therapist.
- Provide information to patients by answering questions and requests.
- Assist patients with physical therapy treatment by applying ice or heat packs, helping them onto exercise equipment, and monitoring their progress.
- Educate patients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering them to the treatment area.
- Perform preventive maintenance on physical therapy equipment.
- Manage physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock levels and anticipating needed supplies.
- Enhance the physical therapy department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Collect garbage at the end of each working day.
- Report any issues needing resolution to physical therapists.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential documents.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to communicate complex information in a well-thought-out and easily understood manner, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate in an honest, direct, and professional manner, relating well to others to build rapport and effective relationships.
- Ability to demonstrate active listening by asking clarifying questions, identifying and sharing relevant information, and soliciting feedback from others.
- Ability to identify and problem-solve.
- Strong team player.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology or related field, preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in customer service.
This position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. It also requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Normal range of hearing and eyesight are required to record, prepare, and present reports.
