About the RoleThe Dishroom Coordinator is a vital member of our culinary team at Oakmont Senior Living. This role is responsible for ensuring that all dishes and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization in the dishroom and kitchen areas.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Service Preparation: Prepare the dishroom and kitchen areas prior to meal service, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Dish Transport and Cleaning: Transport all dishes to the kitchen following meal preparation and mealtimes, clearing, washing, and sanitizing dishes and utensils, and returning them to their designated storage areas.
- Post-Service Cleaning: Assist with breaking down the kitchen for clean-up, performing general clean-up and sanitation of the dishroom, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, range hoods, sinks, and drains, and emptying the trash.
- Resident Interaction: Respond to resident concerns and complaints in a professional and caring manner, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
- Teamwork and Safety: Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments, maintaining a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, adhering to established safety standards.
- Experience: Prefer six (6) months of experience working in a kitchen or similar setting.
- Age and Education: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication Skills: Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
- Certifications and Screening: Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
