Special Education Assistant with Behavioral Support Experience

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team at Transforce. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school.
Responsibilities:
- Manage classroom behaviors and create a positive learning environment
- Report behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staff members
- Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data
- Maintain classroom order and safety while ensuring a secure environment for students
- Provide general supervision of students inside the school setting
- Assist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behavior
- Think quickly, independently, and tactfully to address challenging situations
- Maintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditions
Requirements:
- Certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required
- Paraprofessional Certification is ideal but not necessary; we offer training and support for those interested in obtaining it
- Security or Juvenile Justice background is beneficial, but not essential
- Military Veterans are encouraged to apply
- Good driving record and willingness to drive student vans (no CDL needed)
- Ability to operate effectively under stress and adapt to changing situations
- Flexibility to adjust to routine changes
- At least 23 years of age
