Hotel Houseperson

Indus Hospitality Group is seeking a detail-oriented Hotel Houseperson to join our team. As a Hotel Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hotel's public areas, including the lobby, restrooms, offices, corridors, banquet areas, elevators, stairways, entranceways, pool facilities, exercise room, and outside grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• General cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces
• Providing safe transportation to guests using the hotel shuttle vehicle
• Collecting soiled linens from housekeeping carts and transporting them to the laundry for sorting
• Delivering linen, terry, and other guest room supplies to housekeepers
• Assisting in the delivery and setup of cots, cribs, and other guest-related supplies
• Collecting trash from housekeeping carts and transporting it to the disposal area
• Checking fixtures, equipment, and facility conditions for proper operation, settings, and maintenance
• Repairing as needed
• Maintaining housekeeping storage closets in proper supply level, organization, and cleanliness
• Assisting in stripping guest room beds as needed
• Ensuring hotel amenities and supplies are placed appropriately throughout the hotel
• Performing special deep cleaning tasks as assigned
• Moving furniture, hanging and removing drapes, and rolling carpets as needed
• Assisting with snow removal, including brushing off cars, shoveling, and salting walkways as necessary
• Replacing light bulbs as needed

Requirements:

• Up to one month of related experience or training
• Less than high school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
• Ability to communicate with others in a clear and professional manner
• Maintaining a valid New York State Driver's License with no major violations

Working Conditions:

• Regularly exposed to chemicals, dust, and odors
• Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
• Work in an environment open to the general public

Salary: $15-17 per hour
