Position Overview: This is a merit-based hire position with an hourly compensation of $22.05. The Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging is currently seeking applications for the full-time, day shift role of Supervisor of Aging Care Management. This position entails overseeing Care Managers and Case Aides, ensuring the effective coordination of client services, and facilitating employee training in relevant policies, procedures, and methodologies utilized by the Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Care Managers and Case Aides based in the main and/or focal point offices, who provide care management to clients of the Area Agency on Aging.
- Conduct supervision through case reviews, individual meetings, staff meetings, and joint home visits to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, regulations from the PA Department of Aging, and Agency policies.
- Oversee the Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) and monitor both state and federal budgets to assess expenditure rates and determine the necessity for a waiting list.
- Assist in the development and coordination of care management, quality assurance, and training initiatives.
- Evaluate and enhance staff performance through training activities.
- Collaborate with the Data Manager to monitor the appropriateness, adequacy, and accuracy of the Unit's data management efforts.
- Supervise on-call Protective Services workers on a rotating basis and other Care Management staff as required.
- Participate in the recruitment process for Aging Care Managers and Case Aides.
Work Environment: The Supervisor of Aging Care Management operates with a significant degree of independence and reports to the Aging Care Management Supervisor 3.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree supplemented by three years of experience in public or private social work, including 12 semester hours of college-level coursework in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or related social sciences.
Additional Requirements:
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a positive driving record at the time of hire.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check, child abuse clearances, and FBI clearances, along with favorable references.
- Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license must be provided within 60 days of hire. Alternative identification will be accepted if the candidate is ineligible for a Pennsylvania driver's license under applicable regulations and if driving is not a core function of the role.
