We are currently engaged in significant initiatives at NAVAIR, focusing on the research, procurement, and maintenance of the Navy's Autonomous Aircraft program. We are seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in Test and Evaluation to manage the execution of R&D projects related to Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). The successful candidate will partner with clients to develop testing strategies for advanced capabilities, identify and validate gaps, confirm requirements, and set project-specific testing objectives and plans. This role requires an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities

Main Duties:

  • Facilitate technical reviews, evaluate test plans, create operational security concepts for testing, and monitor the status and progress of team and contract tests.
  • Assist in the development of acquisition and technical documentation.
  • Serve as the primary test engineering contact for coordinating the status and execution of testing projects throughout all phases of design, engineering, integration, testing, and program execution.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in test and evaluation execution, overseeing test coordination and communicating T&E issues and concerns with program management and technical leadership.
  • Coordinate interactions among government and contractor project leaders and engineers, as well as T&E experts, service members, and military officials involved in program test executions.
  • Provide support and insights to assess project execution effectiveness and recommend improvements to procedural tasks for future project activities or design evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Task Lead(s) to formulate long-term plans for future capabilities and contribute insights to roadmaps for analysis, risk mitigation, development, and integration of advanced functionalities.
  • Review contractor proposals within the framework of legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and report on the status of multiple assigned project tasks, including test data analysis.
  • Periodic travel (20-30%) is an essential aspect of this role.
Essential Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, or Test Engineering, a scientific discipline, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • An active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

Requisite Expertise / Skills:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in systems test engineering and test and evaluation processes.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating operations across various organizational boundaries.
  • A background in working within a dynamic, time-sensitive, and complex security environment.
