The Pharmacy Care Associate Technician plays a crucial role in enhancing medication adherence and improving pharmacy-related quality metrics. This position involves:
- Making a high volume of outbound calls to members and healthcare providers to address medication non-compliance, schedule telephonic pharmacy consultations, and gather necessary follow-up information.
- Documenting accurate information from calls in the member or provider's records.
- Reviewing claims documentation to ensure correct billing and validate payments to contracted pharmacies.
- Providing assistance to internal teams, subcontractors, and providers regarding Medicare drug-related inquiries.
- Contributing to pharmacy quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining eligibility information confidentially and accurately.
- Timely entering all assigned applications to meet eligibility deadlines.
- Exhibiting exceptional communication skills while delivering complete and precise information to members.
- Requesting additional information as needed to finalize applications.
- Adhering to assigned schedules and quality metrics.
- Following all policies and procedures related to the Medical Assistance Program.
- Utilizing fine motor skills to operate office equipment efficiently.
- Comprehending and executing verbal and written instructions effectively.
In this role, you will be recognized for your performance in a challenging environment that provides clear guidance for success and opportunities for advancement. Requirements include:
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Texas.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Basic understanding of Medicare Part D, including pharmacy record review, claims, billing, and reimbursement rules.
- Familiarity with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and CMS security requirements.
- Proficiency in writing and producing error-free documentation.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office, internet usage, and email communication.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of NCPDP and various prescription drug claims.
- Understanding of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies.
- Previous experience in retail pharmacy is advantageous.
