About the Role:
Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Therapist to join our team at the Brunswick Community Corrections Alternative Program (CCAP) in Lawrenceville, VA. As a Therapist, you will play a critical role in facilitating social behavioral change, cognitive restructuring, and substance abuse treatment programming within an Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Develop and implement comprehensive assessments and individual treatment plans within established timeframes, ensuring that program participants receive personalized support and guidance.
- Facilitate Group Sessions: Lead psycho-educational and process groups as defined by the curriculum, promoting a safe and supportive environment for participants to share their experiences and learn from one another.
- Provide Individual Counseling: Offer individual counseling sessions according to timeframes established per program, documenting each session according to policies and procedures to ensure accurate tracking and evaluation of participant progress.
- Maintain Clinical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with contractual and Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Serve as a Role Model/Mentor: Serve as a positive role model and mentor for program participants, maintaining professional boundaries while addressing participant issues, concerns, and inappropriate behaviors promptly and in accordance with Spectrum Health Systems, Inc.'s clinical design.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field is required.
- Certification/License: State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing the job description.
