We are seeking a skilled and experienced welder to join our production team at Morgan Truck Body LLC. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for operating various welding equipment and producing high-quality truck bodies.
About the Role
- Operate multiple types of welding equipment, including MIG and TIG welders, to produce aluminum, steel, and galvanized materials.
- Work primarily with aluminum, steel, and galvanized metals, requiring a high level of skill and attention to detail.
- Ensure all welding operations meet customer and company requirements.
- Install lift gates, walk ramps, and platforms on trucks.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and advise maintenance of any defects.
- Plan and set up welding operations before beginning work.
- Read blueprints and weld according to plans.
- Train junior welders and supervise their work.
- Demonstrate knowledge of welding symbols and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Must pass a weld test to demonstrate proficiency.
- Be proficient in three or more welding materials: mild steel, galvanized steel, carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel.
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a welder.
- BASIC math skills and computer knowledge.
- Familiarity with hand tools.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints.
- At least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing.
- Previous experience working on truck bodies.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Work Environment
- This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment.
- The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle or feel, and reaches with hands and arms.
- Lifts up to 35 pounds.
- May sit, bend, stoop, squat, reach overhead, or crawl (may be in confined spaces).
- Performs repetitive tasks using hands and has the ability to climb ladders and/or work in high places.
