Position Overview

The anticipated compensation for this role is $48.51 per hour. Actual remuneration will be based on experience, skills, and internal equity considerations.

ROLE SUMMARY: This position involves delivering both classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for students enrolled in the nursing program at the College of Nursing. Responsibilities include preparing educational content, designing assignments, and assessing student performance in clinical and academic settings. Collaborates with healthcare professionals in affiliated clinical environments to enhance student learning and ensure high-quality nursing care for patients. Engages in the development, execution, and continuous assessment of the comprehensive educational programs within the College of Nursing. Serves as a catalyst for change and a leader in advancing nursing education and practice.

Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MS or MSN)
  • A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience as mandated by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated enrollment in a doctoral program
  • Prior teaching experience, ideally within a baccalaureate nursing curriculum
  • Licensure/Certifications: Current licensure in Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
  • Additional skills/knowledge: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective interaction with students, colleagues, and clinical partners to foster a supportive learning environment
