About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Residential Generator Repair Technician to join our team at Ace Hardware Home Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing residential generators to ensure our customers receive top-notch service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist lead technicians with daily installations and repairs of electrical systems.
  • Work closely with the lead technician to ensure work is completed and the job site is clean.
  • Organize work by receiving and studying work orders, gathering tools and supplies.
  • Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with codes.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications.
  • Test electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
  • Inspect electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
  • Replace conduit and wiring as needed.
  • Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Complete special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in residential generator installation and maintenance preferred.
  • Electrical license preferred.
  • Knowledge of multiple manufacturers of equipment.
  • Communication skills.
  • Able to work independently or with a team.
  • NEC training.
  • OSHA 10.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to complete equipment maintenance.
  • Able to pass a drug screening and background check (random testing may occur).
  • Valid driver's license and clean MVR.
  • High standards for your work. Excellence and integrity matter to you.
  • You are able to be a true team player with a positive attitude at all times.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
  • Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
