Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Imaging Technologist to join our team on a travel assignment in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

About the Job

This is a 13-week contract with 40 hours per week and an estimated salary of $120,000.00 per year.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in an interventional radiology suite, assisting with minimally invasive procedures using imaging techniques such as fluoroscopy, CT scans, and ultrasound.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the interventional radiology (IR) suite for procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, sterile instruments, and supplies are available and functioning.

  • Reviewing patient information, medical history, and previous imaging studies to ensure the correct procedure and appropriate imaging protocols.

  • Verifying patient identity, allergies, and consent forms before procedures begin.

  • Explaining procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and providing reassurance to reduce anxiety.

  • Assisting interventional radiologists during procedures, operating imaging equipment, and maintaining a sterile environment.

  • Administering contrast agents or dyes as directed by physicians to enhance visibility of blood vessels or organs on imaging.

  • Monitoring patients' vital signs during procedures and reporting any changes to the medical team.

  • Ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout procedures, positioning patients appropriately to obtain optimal images while preventing injury.

  • Following radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to both patients and healthcare staff.

Requirements:

  • Current certification in radiologic technology and interventional radiology.

  • Experience working in an interventional radiology suite with advanced imaging equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and ability to maintain a sterile environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
