The Jefferson College of Nursing is actively seeking qualified candidates for a faculty position within our esteemed Adult Gerontology-Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
This role is pivotal as we enhance our master's and doctoral educational offerings, which include diverse post-BSN to DNP pathways focusing on areas such as community systems administration, nursing informatics, and various nurse practitioner specialties.
We invite applications for a full-time faculty role dedicated to the Adult Gerontology-Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program. Ideal candidates will demonstrate innovative and visionary leadership capabilities essential for the effective delivery of nursing education at the graduate level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with fellow nurse practitioner faculty in course planning and resource identification.
- Oversee the selection of clinical preceptors and clinical sites, ensuring optimal student clinical placements and progression.
- Work closely with the Chair of Programs, Associate Deans, Dean, and support services to achieve desired program outcomes.
- Exhibit a passion for educating future advanced practice nurses across classroom, clinical, and online settings.
- Serve as an advisor and mentor to students, actively participating in college meetings and committees.
- Maintain current practice, engage in scholarship, and contribute to community service initiatives.
- Foster strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Essential Qualifications:
- Must hold certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) with a focus on Adult Gerontology-Acute Care.
- A doctoral degree is preferred; however, a master’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Candidates without a doctoral degree must be enrolled in a doctoral program.
- Must be eligible for licensure to practice professional nursing in Pennsylvania.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and student support is essential, or a willingness to acquire these skills.
This is a salaried position that includes a comprehensive benefits and retirement package. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
