Job Summary

Genesis Prime Care is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including real-time and portable imaging modalities, on patients of all ages.
  • Position patients appropriately for tests, following established protocols, and explain procedures and positioning to patients.
  • Monitor and maintain essential patient care and safety during procedures, applying safety principles as identified by established policy.
  • Select and operate equipment, selecting proper technical factors on an individual basis.
  • Discern the correct examination to be performed by a combination of exam ordered, clinical history, and patient condition.
  • Provide test results to patient's physician and other appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Perform daily quality control of equipment and other quality assurance/quality control activities as required.
  • Maintain department statistics and records.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Prepare room for diagnostic procedures.
  • Participate in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices.
  • Ensure compliance with legal issues, including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management, and ensure compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Exhibit a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adjust to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical diagnostic sonography program.
  • Registration by ARDMS or ARRT.
  • One to two years related experience or equivalent.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.

Special Requirements:

Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required. Ability to handle significant stress.
