We are seeking an experienced ICU nurse to join our team at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Sacramento. This is a travel contract opportunity that requires 2 years of experience and active BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CA License.
Job Requirements- 2 years of experience in ICU nursing
- Active BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CA License
12-hour shifts, with shift starts at 6:45 AM. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
Unit Specific InformationCerts: BLS, ACLS, PALS (preferred), NIHSS. Ratios: 1:2, 1:3 Stepdown, swing beds. EMR: Cerner. Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief. Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Holidays: Rotate in with core staff. Scrub Color: Navy. Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Vents: Yes. Hospitalist or Intensivist: Yes. IV Team: No. RT 24/7: Yes. Pharmacy 24/7: Yes. Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Primarily medical ICU, resp failure, sepsis, DKA, GI bleed, psych holds with sitters, some pediatrics. Travelers will not take peds. Can also have PACU patients after hours.
Additional NotesUtilize Tele-med robots. Horseshoe layout. COVID REQUIREMENT: Medical or Religious declination.
Additional DetailsDIGNITY FACILITY-WIDE ORIENTATION IS IN SACRAMENTO - NOT GRASS VALLEY. Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years). Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling.
