Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for a driven Junior Cost Estimator to become a vital member of our dynamic construction team. This role is crucial for our operational success, as you will be tasked with preparing, coordinating, and managing cost estimates for a variety of construction initiatives. Your contributions will be key in securing new projects and ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to generate accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for various projects.
  • Preparing and presenting budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
  • Collaborating with the project management team to gain a thorough understanding of project strategies, financial objectives, scheduling, logistics, and milestones.
  • Engaging in proposal development and client presentations.
  • Working alongside engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to formulate project cost estimates.
  • Evaluating design alternatives and suggesting optimal solutions based on cost-effectiveness, engineering quality, and material availability.
  • Monitoring and documenting all project expenditures to ensure adherence to cost estimates.
  • Identifying potential cost uncertainties to ensure comprehensive costing models.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 1 year of experience in commercial or residential construction or relevant internship experience.
  • Familiarity with On-Screen Takeoff software for estimation purposes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction estimation software.
  • Able to thrive under pressure while effectively organizing and prioritizing tasks.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a keen ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships, collaborate effectively in team settings, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
