Telemetry Technician

The Telemetry Technician is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, and communicating cardiac rhythms and telemetry indicators for multiple patients. This role requires continuous monitoring of electrocardiographic displays to identify variances in cardiac activity and notify healthcare personnel accordingly.

• Monitor multiple patients' electrocardiographic displays to identify variances in cardiac activity
• Notify healthcare personnel of any deviations from normal cardiac rhythms
• Troubleshoot routine technical concerns with equipment and notify biomedical equipment individuals for non-basic repairs

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of the Electrocardiogram (ECG) course within three months of hire or a score of 85% or greater on the ECG challenge exam
• Preferred: Completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or First Responder courses

• One year experience as a Telemetry/Monitor Technician
• One year experience with direct patient care

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire
• Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Completion of a Monitor Technician certification
