Responsibilities

As a Chaplain in Hospice, you are responsible for utilizing appropriate pastoral ministry approaches to support patients, residents, and family members during times of illness, injury, or grief.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides spiritual care assessment, patient care planning, intervention, and evaluation to Hospice patients and their families in all care settings.
  • Provides spiritual care assessment, patient/family planning, intervention, and evaluation to Hospice families during the bereavement period.
  • Responds to deaths and other crisis situations.
  • Participates in funeral or memorial services as appropriate.

Shift:

Casual Part-Time, Varied

Qualifications

License/Certifications:

  • Ordained Christian Minister preferred
  • Certification in NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains) or ACPE (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education) preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year experience as a healthcare chaplain in a hospital and/or long-term care facility preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Theology, Behavioral Science, Ministry, or related field
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Evidence of ongoing education following graduation preferred
