We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance. This key role will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing our established food safety and quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal food regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee processes and records to evaluate food safety and quality assurance protocols.
  • Ensure compliance to quality assurance/food safety requirements by achieving and maintaining all certifications at the facility and abiding by applicable local, state, and federal food laws.
  • Oversee plant compliance and interactions with regulatory bodies/process authorities.
  • Develop and manage shelf-life testing systems for the determination and verification of product safety and quality.
  • Monitor, verify, and validate activities to ensure that all products leaving the facility meet food safety and quality standards.
  • Implement food tracing programs within ERP for full tracking of supply chains.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in situations where deviations have occurred or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and/or quality attributes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or other science-related field, Master's Degree preferred.
  • At least 15+ years of progressive food safety experience, with at least 3 years in a management capacity within a manufacturing environment under HACCP, USDA, and/or FDA.
  • Experience with dairy/low acid beverages preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the areas of food safety, plant regulatory, and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
