We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Handler to join our team at Virgin Galactic. As a Materials Handler, you will be responsible for providing logistical support for the movement, storage, control, and protection of raw materials, supplies, work-in-process products, and finished products.
Key Responsibilities- Logistical Support: Provide logistical support for the movement, storage, control, and protection of raw materials, supplies, work-in-process products, and finished products.
- Inventory Management: Accurately receive all inbound deliveries into the ERP system and maintain records of all receipts in compliance with VG requirements.
- Inventory Control: Visually monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to buyers, schedulers, and others as necessary.
- Material Handling: Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move parts to proper locations and load/offload freight trucks as required.
- Inventory Transactions: Complete inventory transactions to receive and issue inventory as required.
- Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate inventory, performing cycle counting, and physical inventory of stock and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
- Documentation: Verify all incoming documentation and applicable certifications are correct.
- Shipping and Receiving: Responsible for timely delivery of all packages that include stock and non-stock items.
- Process Improvement: On-going improvement of processes for shipping, receiving, kitting, and cycle counting.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: 2+ years' experience in Supply Chain environment.
- Skills: Good written/verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and experience with material movement and computerized inventory management.
- Physical Demands: Physically able to unpack, pack, lift, and transport boxed items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate a manual pallet jack and move loaded skids weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Computer Skills: Familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Teamwork: Works well with people, both internally and externally, and at all levels of the organization.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical Activities: Walking/standing/navigating stairs, pushing/pulling/kneeling, and working in a warehouse environment.
