Position Overview:
As a Chemical Process Specialist, you will provide essential technical support and leadership at our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Product or Process Industrialization:
Review formulas and new processes for manufacturing viability, ensuring quality and safety while resolving issues with collaboration from creators and partners. Validate and support product transfers, and propose process and formula revisions for improvement. - Technical Process Improvement and Engineering:
Identify enhancements in processes and formulas to boost site performance, focusing on quality, cost reduction, yield, and safety. Justify and define the scope for technical improvement projects, maintain P&ID's and PFD's, and conduct detailed capacity analyses using DMAIC methodologies. - Technical Investigation:
Provide operational solutions for formula and process challenges, including yield issues, quality concerns, excessive processing times, and safety-related problems. Offer solutions for reworking out-of-specification products requiring technical intervention.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related technical field.
- A minimum of three years of experience in process and project work within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in liquid processing, spray drying, and granulation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with liquid extraction solvents, purification, and drying processes.
- Experience with product launches and modifications.
- Laboratory analysis experience, including UV and laser particle size analysis.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
