Job Summary:

To provide exceptional support to visually impaired children with severe and multiple disabilities in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality care and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist children with daily living activities, including toileting, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Support teachers and professionals in routine classroom activities, such as following schedules and assisting with educational goals.
  • Document student performance and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment by wiping and disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and materials.
  • Transport students between classes and activities, and accompany them in specialty classes.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proper clearances for Acts 34, 114, and 151.
  • Experience working with visually impaired children with severe and multiple disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in Child Development or related field.
Personal Attributes:
  • Enthusiastic and positive demeanor.
  • Able to easily assimilate and retain new information and skills.
  • Heightened awareness to safety across all situations.
Work Conditions:
  • 40 hour onsite work week with opportunity for overtime work.
  • No travel required.
  • Bending, kneeling, stooping, and lifting on a frequent basis.
