Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist will be primarily responsible for direct patient care, planning and implementing specific treatment programs in an age-appropriate manner for individual patients according to the principles and practices of occupational therapy in a post-acute care setting. The Occupational Therapist will also be involved in the further development of services and must be flexible to meet the needs of the organization within various facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with various physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' functional abilities and create treatment plans to improve their independence and quality of life.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate services with other healthcare professionals.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on occupational therapy techniques and strategies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education and Training: Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state where the hospital or clinic resides. Current BLS certification required.
Experience: One year of clinical experience preferred.
