Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Report to the Warden or Health Service Administrator regarding daily clinical operations.
  • Oversee and manage daily nursing and clinical functions.
  • Supervise both licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, ensuring adherence to facility and corporate policies. Responsibilities include training new staff, conducting performance evaluations, addressing grievances, implementing corrective actions, creating work schedules, and approving leave requests.
  • Deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure, utilizing appropriate nursing skills for the treatment of inmates.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels at the facility, stepping in to provide care during shortages. Duties may include executing physician orders, assisting in examinations, administering medications, responding to emergencies, and conducting patient screenings.
  • Conduct triage and physical assessments as necessary.
  • Lead emergency care procedures and coordinate with Licensed Independent Providers for treatment directives.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a diploma or degree.
  • Hold a current nursing license in the state of employment.
  • A minimum of two years of nursing experience is required.
  • One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a solid understanding of clinical nursing principles and management practices.
  • Have a basic proficiency in computer and office equipment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
