Position Overview
The Inbound Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role within the GOVX Fulfillment Center (GXFC). This position is focused on the efficient reception and processing of inventory shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately receive products by matching shipping documents and utilizing handheld scanners to replenish inventory to designated locations.
- Conduct thorough inventory checks and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor promptly.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time role with typical hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 1-hour lunch break. Flexibility for occasional Saturday and overtime work may be required based on operational needs.
Essential Duties
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and completeness of each shipment before processing in GXFC systems.
- Utilize warehouse equipment effectively to stock inventory on shelves.
- Label and prepare packages for carrier pickup.
- Adhere to safety protocols and utilize appropriate protective equipment.
- Assist with additional warehouse tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Working Environment
This position operates in a professional warehouse setting, utilizing equipment such as computers, scanners, and pallet jacks. Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for up to 80% of the workday.
- Capability to push/pull carts weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to lift/carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Proficient in repetitive motions such as typing and scanning.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills are necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
