Job Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for patients and students at Touro University New York's dental clinic. This position is responsible for coordinating daily desk operations, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front Desk Operations: Manage the daily flow of patients, update demographics, collect and upload patient dental insurance information, and verify eligibility as needed.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Update the student appointment book with cancellations and no-shows, monitor student attendance, and schedule Uber transportation for patients when required.
  • Financial Management: Process patient walk-outs, notify patients of required payments, and document communication in the Electronic Health Record.
  • End-of-Day Procedures: Perform closing duties, run End-of-Day reports, and evaluate patient accounts for accuracy and productivity.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with the Clinical Practice Leader to support the Group Practice team, meet weekly to review student compliance, and communicate effectively with patients, faculty, and colleagues.
  • Patient Advocacy: Promote hospitality and respect for all patients, students, and faculty, and communicate with patients to minimize or resolve issues within the school before escalation.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Experience: Experience in a dental office strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong attention to detail, effective time management, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Knowledge: General administrative duties, customer service, and team orientation.
  • Abilities: Develop positive relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues, and demonstrate proficiency in communication (written and verbal).

Compensation

Maximum Salary: USD $55,725.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary: USD $44,580.00/Yr.
