About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Pathologists' Assistant to join our team in Malden, Massachusetts.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with medical professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform gross description and dissection of surgical pathology specimens, ensuring accurate and detailed reports.
  • Provide instruction and training to resident trainees and Pathologists' Assistant student interns on gross anatomy, specimen orientation, and tissue selection.
  • Assist in the autopsy suite, performing prosecting and reporting responsibilities as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to ensure consistent and proper acquisition of tissue for departmental or inter-departmental purposes.
  • Enter data into the laboratory information system, assign surgical pathology accession numbers, and edit patient charge information.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to specimen mislabeling, missing specimens, and other clinical staff issues.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree from a NAACLS-accredited and AAPA-approved Pathologists' Assistant Training Program.
  • PA(ASCP) certification required, with recent graduates obtaining certification within 1 calendar year from training program completion.
  • Two or more years of experience in a similar role, with a preference for academic settings.
