Logistics Coordinator

Akin Building Centers seeks a skilled and dedicated Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Creston, IA.

This role involves loading, transporting, and delivering building materials to customers in a safe and timely manner. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in delivery driving or a related field, excellent communication and customer service skills, and strong time management and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles
• Reviewing orders for accuracy and completeness before delivery
• Interacting professionally with customers to provide outstanding service and assistance as needed
• Maintaining delivery vehicles in clean and organized condition, reporting any issues promptly
• Following company policies and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate logistics
• Completing necessary paperwork, such as delivery slips and vehicle inspections
• Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and refueling
• Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in delivery driving or a related field is advantageous
• Ability to lift heavy building materials and use equipment such as forklifts when necessary
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong time management and organizational abilities
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
