Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Facilities Management for MEP Systems will oversee the management of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing departments at Maine's Public Universities. This includes managing the campus MEP infrastructure, which includes underground steam and condensate distribution, 4160 volt under and above ground distribution, and sewer, water, and storm drain distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing departments, including HVAC, plumbing, and electric shop managers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Oversee the management of the campus MEP infrastructure, including underground steam and condensate distribution, 4160 volt under and above ground distribution, and sewer, water, and storm drain distribution systems.
- Assist in campus MEP upgrades, perform relevant support work, and assist the MEP shops with system repairs and troubleshooting.
- Interact with regulatory and oversight offices, insurance companies, and other external entities.
- Act as a resource for internal and external entities, including construction project managers, vendors, businesses, students, faculty, and staff.
Requirements:
- Typically has the education associated with a Bachelor's degree.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with industrial, commercial, and residential MEP systems.
- Experience with HVAC controls systems.
- Ability to travel requiring a valid driver's license.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Adobe, Gmail applications, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in an institutional setting.
- Professional Engineering license.
Physical Demands:
The ability to perform physical activities that require talking, hearing, seeing, and considerable and repetitive use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, climbing, lifting, bending, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Work Environment:
The work environment is a typical office setting with occasional travel to construction sites and other locations.
