Position Overview

This role reports directly to the Director of Sales and provides essential sales and administrative support to the Food & Beverage Department.

The Sales and Marketing Associate plays a crucial role in supporting sales, catering, marketing, and special events, contributing to the successful achievement of budgeted revenue targets for both room and food & beverage services.

This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to both internal stakeholders and guests.


In addition to administrative tasks, the Associate will manage group reservation processes, respond to inquiries, engage with clients during site inspections, assist in the contracting process, and provide on-site support while utilizing proprietary technology to monitor productivity.

This role also involves planning special events in collaboration with the Food & Beverage team, which includes general marketing efforts and day-of-event support, requiring a flexible work schedule.

Key Responsibilities


Perform various administrative tasks for Sales and Food & Beverage, including coding and submitting invoices, managing communication, organizing special events, scheduling conferences and banquets, handling information requests, and similar duties.

Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and summaries to be distributed throughout the organization as necessary.

Complete special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager and Director of Sales and Food & Beverage.

Maintain accurate office record-keeping and accounting, ensuring all Brand systems are up to date.

Provide prompt and courteous service to both internal and external clients.

Support marketing initiatives alongside the Director of Sales to ensure timely execution of strategies.

Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales regarding group bookings and work with the Food and Beverage team on special events. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, and attendance at all special events is required to assist with production and technology needs.

Participate in group pre-conference meetings and special event planning sessions.

Assist with site inspections, property tours, and client entertainment.

Manage special reservations, including VIP bookings and functions for special event guests, performers, and vendors.

Develop a strong understanding of hotel systems, including STS, FOSSE, Micros, MARSHA, MGS, and all Brand tools.


Build group room blocks in hotel systems and collaborate with the Director of Sales and clients to manage the group booking process from contracting through to post-event operations, adhering to Marriott Brand standards throughout the group sales journey.

Act as a liaison with designated special event and food and beverage leads as appropriate.

Assist in promoting special events within the hotel and the surrounding community through effective marketing strategies.

Maintain and order current printed sales and promotional materials as well as office supplies.

Champion social media efforts for the organization, coordinating with other departments to ensure the distribution of important information and responses.

Attend all Sales and Special Event meetings.

Possess a basic understanding of hotel rates, strategies, discounts, and promotions.

Develop strong customer relationships through effective communication and professional, courteous interactions.


Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date file management to serve clients and the organization efficiently.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:
A college degree is preferred, or equivalent experience.

3-5 years of experience in hotel, food and beverage, marketing, or related fields is preferred.

Certification in STS is preferred but not required.
