Schedule: Full Time - Day Shift 7a-7p, 36 hours per week
Position Summary:
This busy Emergency Room operates within a Level One Trauma Hospital, recognized as a Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center. Our Registered Nurse (RN) team excels in managing Stroke and STEMI activations, adhering to established care protocols. The fast-paced environment thrives on collaboration, with 50 examination rooms and 6 trauma bays. RNs work closely with Emergency Department Providers, Social Workers, and Registration, fostering a strong sense of teamwork.
The Emergency Department primarily serves adult patients, with pediatric care provided as necessary. Registered Nurses (RN) have opportunities to engage in improvement initiatives, Shared Governance, departmental committees, and councils, ensuring that every voice is valued. This unit promotes skill development, enhances time management, and encourages participation in efforts to improve the Emergency Department experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care delivered by the healthcare team, utilizing a professional practice model. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments and identifying health concerns
- Developing and implementing care plans while evaluating patient responses
- Building therapeutic relationships with patients and families, managing discomfort, and maintaining professionalism
- Educating patients, families, and community members to empower informed healthcare decisions
- Delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring follow-up
- Collaborating with colleagues and the community to create effective care plans
- Recognizing limitations and prioritizing safety and efficiency in patient care
- Contributing to the development of peers and demonstrating commitment to community service
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
- Current and valid nursing license
- BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of starting
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in an Emergency Department
Skills and Certifications:
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
- 1 Year of RN experience in the Emergency Department
