Position Summary
The Level 1 Power & HVAC Load Bank Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of small load banks, resistor racks on larger load banks, power distribution equipment, trailers, and low voltage cables. This role involves diagnosing intricate equipment issues while adhering to all safety protocols. The technician ensures that equipment is operational for rental clients, minimizing downtime through efficient methods. The Load Bank Technician, Level 1 possesses advanced knowledge of Sunbelt's small load bank equipment and is capable of diagnosing complex problems, often serving as a consultant to others.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform major repairs and maintenance on various types of equipment to ensure optimal working condition.
- Dismantle, reassemble, and rebuild equipment as necessary.
- Fabricate parts and equipment to meet shop and customer requirements.
- Utilize basic and advanced hand tools, metering devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, and shop tools.
- Prepare and receive low and medium voltage cables, AC & DC load banks, generators, power distribution equipment, transformers, and trailers for rental.
- Troubleshoot and repair small load banks, resistor racks, power distribution items, trailers, and low voltage cables.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize repairs and downtime in the field.
- Perform safety inspections on equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Provide training and mentorship to other mechanics involved in equipment repairs or maintenance.
- Evaluate time and cost associated with repairs.
- Specialize in specific types of small equipment within large Profit Centers.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
- Participate in all required training and manufacturer training.
- Comply with all company, governmental, and equipment-related safety regulations.
- Engage in all Profit Center Meetings.
