We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures in our radiology department.
Key Responsibilities- Perform radiographic procedures, including transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients.
- Calculate and select proper technical factors, operate equipment, acquire and process images, and properly identify images with patient I.D. and markers.
- Provide radiation protection and assist physicians in administering contrast media, practicing technique, and performing first aid when necessary.
- Assist in Quality Improvement projects and maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned areas.
- Rotate within department, divisions, and off-site clinics, and cooperate with all personnel to promote harmony within the department.
- Explain exams to patients, considering their physical and emotional needs, and maintain ethical standards.
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintain CEUs in accordance with Massachusetts state licensure and ARRT requirements.
- Graduation from an approved formal Program in Radiologic technology.
- Valid Massachusetts license as a Radiologic technologist in the category of Radiography.
- Meet, successfully complete, and maintain ARRT or equivalent certification and registration.
- 0-2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Must be prepared to work OT, holidays, and weekends as needed. Works in a large open area in radiology that is noisy and tends to have extreme temperature and humidity variations.
Minimal exposure to ionizing radiation when using proper safety procedures. Continuous standing and lifting. Exposure to human waste and disease. Considerable stress from dealing with a wide variety of hospital staff, patients, and families.
