About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Princeton, Indiana. As a Travel Med Surg/Telemetry RN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care on our telemetry unit.
Job Description:
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on the telemetry unit
- Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs
- Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
- Monitor EKG output and keep doctors informed of any changes
- Record vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.
- Monitor patient progress and update patient medical records as needed
- Respond to patients experiencing cardiac pain
- Perform various diagnostic tests
- Manage and administer medication
- Monitor and use the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECG
- Educate patients on cardiac health and communicate with patient's family when applicable
- Administer tests, analyze lab results, and report them to the physician
- Document the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices
- One year experience in Telemetry Preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this position is $50,608 per week, based on a 36-hour workweek, with opportunities for overtime pay.
