Nurse Practitioner

About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Princeton, Indiana. As a Travel Med Surg/Telemetry RN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care on our telemetry unit.

Job Description:

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on the telemetry unit
• Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs
• Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
• Monitor EKG output and keep doctors informed of any changes
• Record vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.
• Monitor patient progress and update patient medical records as needed
• Respond to patients experiencing cardiac pain
• Perform various diagnostic tests
• Manage and administer medication
• Monitor and use the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECG
• Educate patients on cardiac health and communicate with patient's family when applicable
• Administer tests, analyze lab results, and report them to the physician
• Document the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices
• One year experience in Telemetry Preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
• Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
• Computer proficiency required
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $50,608 per week, based on a 36-hour workweek, with opportunities for overtime pay.
