Position Overview

ROLE: Security Advisor

DEPARTMENT: Organizational Operations

SUPERVISOR: Director of Organizational Operations

LOCATION: Montana

GROUP: Volunteer

TIME COMMITMENT: Approximately 2 hours per month, plus around 3 days in the field annually.

EXPENSES: Reimbursement for travel and other authorized costs.

This position is designed to contribute to the safety initiatives of the organization and may involve additional responsibilities as necessary.

VOLUNTEER OBJECTIVE: Act as a member of the Safety Committee for the National Board of Directors, providing valuable insights and recommendations on safety and security matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess current security measures and propose enhancements for ongoing quality improvement.
  • Conduct evaluations of facilities to identify security needs as required.
  • Review and provide guidance on security training programs, including conflict resolution and emergency response training.
  • Perform annual assessments of the organization's safety protocols, including emergency response and crisis management strategies.
  • Participate in regular Safety Committee meetings via remote communication platforms.
  • Stay informed about the organization's emergency response strategies and contribute to incident evaluations.
  • Foster connections with local law enforcement to enhance community safety awareness.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A genuine enthusiasm for and positive representation of the organization's mission and values.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in law enforcement or a related security field.
  • Familiarity with rural communities, particularly in Montana.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for organizational needs, with all travel expenses covered.
