Position Overview:
Nightwing is in search of a Satellite Operations Engineer to play a pivotal role in our global data management initiatives. This position is essential for supporting satellite engineering tasks and operations, ensuring seamless execution of major system activities including on-orbit operations, vehicle trending, and ground system support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage projects aimed at ensuring satellite readiness and effective on-orbit operations.
- Oversee the transmission, reception, and documentation of satellite communications.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to provide insights and updates on project status.
- Maintain accountability for all satellite health monitoring activities.
- Collaborate with space system developers to configure ground hardware for commanding functions.
- Conduct analyses and provide technical leadership for anomaly resolution and system conflict resolution.
- Develop and uphold comprehensive documentation in line with customer directives and industry standards.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Proven experience in global communications engineering projects.
- Ability to identify system challenges and offer technical guidance to senior leadership.
- Experience in leading and mentoring junior engineers in mission operations and data analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with senior leadership and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in system integration.
- Proficiency in Perl and/or Python scripting.
