Transportation Planner

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. is seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic Traffic Operations team in Providence, RI, Wethersfield, CT, or Worcester, MA.

We are looking for a versatile professional with experience in traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and be able to work in a hybrid setup from one of our offices three days a week.

• Develop innovative traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Prepare comprehensive written planning documents, including traffic safety studies, road safety assessments, transportation planning and scoping documents.
• Conduct field observations, tabulate and analyze traffic and safety data, and develop preliminary and final design plans and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with clients and public stakeholders to document and communicate findings from field observations and data collection.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of engineering experience, preferably with knowledge of local and state regulations governing site design.
• Proficiency in industry-standard engineering design and analysis systems, such as CAD, GIS, and traffic simulation software.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner.
