We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide holistic and quality care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include helping with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Nursing, a valid California license, BLS (AHA), and proof of malpractice insurance. At least one year of family medicine experience or one year of urgent care experience is required.
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate population
- Conduct medical histories, examine inmates, and order and interpret laboratory tests, x-ray, and other diagnostic testing
- Diagnosis and treat patients in an efficient, timely, and professional manner, provide treatment plans, and prescribe medication utilizing the Bureau of Prisons formulary
- Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing
- Attend to medical emergencies
- Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy
- Perform emergency consultation in instances where deemed necessary
- Work collaboratively with the staff physicians and consulting physicians in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising program plans
- Assists in determining conditions, resources, and policies essential to the delivery of health care services
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems
- Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick calls, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings, and providing clinical evaluations
- Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician
- Constantly be aware of security and maintain a professional relationship with inmates at all times
