Position Overview
EBAD is in search of a Quality Assurance Engineer with a background in manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities:
This role is essential for providing support to customer initiatives and supplier quality standards. The selected candidate will oversee quality assurance, enhance systems and processes, develop suppliers, and engage in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts, including the analysis of non-conformances and the implementation of effective solutions.
- Lead quality assurance activities for designated programs from proposal through delivery, ensuring compliance with customer specifications while meeting EBAD's cost and delivery goals.
- Actively engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and lead Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
- Facilitate customer quality audits and participate in internal quality assessments.
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers regarding program quality expectations.
- Develop, adjust, coordinate, and document the execution, assessment, and upkeep of quality assurance programs and systems.
- Establish QA/QC metrics for evaluating supplier performance impacting our products and services.
- Issue formal supplier corrective actions (SCARs) and collaborate with them to resolve issues.
- Issue internal and supplier Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
- Provide guidance on interpreting and adapting quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze design reliability and quality to recommend process improvements and enhancements.
- Work closely with Engineering to ensure quality products reach production readiness.
- Monitor action plans from supplier audits and assessments, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Lead quality initiatives in production activities: materials, processes, assemblies, products, and field failures (RMA).
The ideal candidate will possess a BS/MS in a scientific or engineering discipline, with a focus on electro/mechanical engineering and experience in quality assurance.
- Experience with high-precision machined components and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with current ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality management systems.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Understanding of process capability concepts, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices, and ERP/MRP planning systems.
- Proficient in MS Windows applications - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiar with MS Project.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification. ASQ CQE/CQM Certification. Experience in military or aerospace quality systems. Significant experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year. Salary is determined based on the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
