We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer, High-Speed Analog to join our team in San Jose, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate with innovative professionals.

About the Role

The Advanced Interconnect Lab (AIL) is looking for a self-driven and motivated individual to lead research and development of high-speed circuits and architectures for optical interconnects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, simulating, and laying out analog front-end, SERDES, and error correction circuits.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days of onsite work in San Jose, CA, and flexibility to work remotely the remainder of the time. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, simulate, and lay out high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits
  • Conduct pre-layout and post-layout simulations and verification
  • Analyze and interpret test results
  • Develop detailed descriptions and test plans for designed blocks
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Science with 15+ years of experience or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Science with 13+ years of industry experience or PhD in Electrical or Computer Science with 8+ years of industry experience
  • At least 7+ years of experience in designing Si-based high-speed circuits, including PLL/DLL, CDR, RO/LC oscillators, regulators, TIA, limiting amplifiers, VGAs, CTLE, FFE, DFE, and digitally-assisted analog techniques
  • Deep understanding of clocking fundamentals, such as phase noise, jitter analysis, budgeting, and feedback loop dynamics
  • Production experience with one or more of the above-mentioned blocks
  • Proficiency in analog/mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, and analysis, with good knowledge of band gaps, bias, op-amps, LDOs, feedback, and compensation techniques, as well as digitally assisted analog circuit techniques
