Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Administrator to support our client located in the Annapolis Junction, MD area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows server administration, including implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows servers (2012, 2016, and 2019).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers.
  • Provides Tier 2 and 3 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems, creating and updating ServiceNow tickets accordingly.
  • Manages GPOs, applies security and system patching, and coordinates/supports all service leads utilizing Windows servers across the program.
  • Configures and manages Windows operating systems, installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components, implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Will be comfortable in all areas of analysis, design, installation, implementation, configuration, tuning, administration, operation, and security of mid-to-large-tier Windows systems.
  • Be knowledgeable in the following categories: PowerShell, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, Trelix ePolicy Orchestrator, Virtualization, and VMWare, and Amazon Web Services.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, performs system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Analyses and resolves complex problems associated with servers, Windows applications, and software integration.
  • Be able to respond to after-hours requests as required in a 24 x 7 environment, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ten (10) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
