Respiratory Therapist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. David's Georgetown Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
Requirements
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP).
- Associate Degree.
- Neonate Resuscitation, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
