Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care, including appointments, surgeries, and treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments to patients as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor and document patient vitals and behavior during exams, procedures, and recovery.
- Perform laboratory tests such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and ear cytology.
- Take and process x-rays.
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including feeding, medicating, and monitoring.
- Facilitate client education and communication regarding pet care, treatments, and follow-up instructions.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records.
- Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree or certification in veterinary technology preferred.
- 2 years experience working as a veterinary technician preferred.
- Strong technical skills for animal care, including taking vitals, administering medications, and performing laboratory tests.
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Ezyvet software is a plus.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours.
