Position Summary

At Solomon Speech Therapy, we are dedicated to empowering students through comprehensive therapy services. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), you will play a vital role in our mission by collaborating with occupational therapists to provide individualized support and guidance to students facing various challenges.

Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with occupational therapists in the assessment of students' daily living skills, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Implement therapeutic activities designed to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive abilities, and adaptive behaviors.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students on a range of tasks, including self-care, fine motor activities, and play skills.
  • Monitor student progress, documenting observations and outcomes in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and equipment required for therapy sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's care plan.

Marginal Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment for students.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Position Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current OTA license, in good standing with the State licensing board.
  • Experience working with children in a therapeutic setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality care and support to students.
