Salary: Competitive hourly rate
Education Requirements:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years related experience in critical care nursing.
Licensure/Certification:
Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. National nursing certification must be obtained within one year of hire. Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required at the time of hire. NIH stroke scale certification and completion of Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum are required within one year of hire.
Physical Demands:
The role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights frequently, with the capacity to handle 25-50 pounds regularly. The nurse must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The work environment may expose the nurse to communicable diseases and other hazards.
Shift Requirements:
The position requires availability to work from 8 PM to 8:30 AM, totaling 36 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate and effective care in emergency situations, particularly during patient condition declines.
- Serve as a resource for other nursing staff in critical decision-making scenarios.
- Assist in achieving the objectives of the command center and collaborate across the UK Healthcare Enterprise.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication skills.
- Advanced critical care nursing expertise.
