Position Overview:
Highland Hospital, a community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Center, is actively seeking skilled Surgical Technologists to enhance our surgical team.
The Operating Room at Highland Hospital provides a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. Our facility boasts 15 advanced operating rooms where a variety of surgical procedures are conducted daily. Surgical Technologists play a crucial role in the operating room, utilizing their expertise and critical thinking to ensure optimal patient care.
Work Schedule: Full-time positions available with a day/evening rotation, Monday through Friday, including on-call responsibilities for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Highland Hospital is renowned for its commitment to compassionate and personalized patient care, having received Magnet redesignation for excellence in nursing. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated to providing high-quality care and are ready to contribute to our mission.
Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all surgical instruments and supplies are ready for use.
- Assist in patient positioning and draping, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the surgical procedure.
- Monitor the patient’s condition and communicate effectively with the surgical team to enhance patient outcomes.
Compensation: Pay range starting at $32.11 per hour.
*The stated pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this position. Individual salaries will be determined based on various factors, including market data, education, experience, and qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Completion of a nationally accredited surgical technologist program and possession of a certified surgical technologist credential.
- Certification: Current American Heart Association BLS CPR Certification required.
- Skills: Proficient in aseptic techniques, with strong knowledge of surgical instruments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
