Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Surgical Assistant to join our team at Stonecliff Veterinary Clinic of New Hampshire. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for assisting with surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with surgical procedures, including preparation, positioning, and monitoring of patients
  • Monitor anesthesia levels and adjust as necessary to ensure patient safety
  • Provide exceptional patient care, including restraint, triage, and nursing care
  • Collect and analyze lab samples, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin samples
  • Position and capture radiographs as needed
  • Administer medications and discuss treatment plans with clients
  • Complete surgical notes and charts for procedures assisted with

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a certified veterinary technician
  • Licensed individuals with a specialty in anesthesia and analgesia or surgery preferred
  • Experience and proficiency in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • Knowledge of pre-operative care, preparation for surgical procedures, post-operative care, and discussing continued care with clients
  • Ability to interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • High work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Weekend availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
