Job Summary:The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting thorough psychiatric assessments, formulating accurate diagnoses, and developing individualized treatment plans for patients. You will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients and provide education and support to patients regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to evaluate patients' mental health status
- Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients
- Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary
- Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects
- Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions
- Provide education and support to patients regarding mental health conditions and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse; Certified Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in FL
- At least 1 year of Psychiatric Acute care experience, to include Psychiatric ED, Med/Surge, Inpatient BH unit and/or Psychiatric Consult Liaison work
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment
- Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
